Art Group is a favorite group amongst clients as it offers a unique and expressive way to process through emotions which may otherwise go unacknowledged, ignored, or repressed. Depending on the needs of the current clientele at the time, we implement individualized art projects in order to best facilitate healing within the particular clients. Within the realm of art, the individual’s typical defenses are not on alert which allows more expression of the true self; in turn, their hidden shadow qualities are more easily manifested in an artistic form onto canvas where it becomes tangible, identifiable, and ripe for the facilitation of integration and healing .South Orange County Detox and Treatment’s Art Therapy Group navigates through the client’s psyche to access hidden thoughts and emotions that stunt the client from achieving their full potential and maintaining sobriety.
