Codependent Patterns
Most of my relationships have been based around codependency and I am realizing that I need to break this pattern because it doesn’t give me or the other person the freedom to be ourselves, and truly love and accept one another without having any sort of strings attached.
The Biggest Disappointment
We’ve all heard the phrase, “I’m not mad, I’m just disappointed”, but what feeling is disappointment mainly comprised of? And under what conditions are the seeds of disappointment sewn? When I try to make sense of disappointment and boil away the irrational secondary emotions, I find that the underlying emotion is sadness.
Codependency in Relationships
To me, codependency is a symptom of an identity crisis. It’s a reliance upon someone else for emotional health, self-worth, and values. It’s a dependence upon someone else to feel comforted and loved. Ultimately, it’s an attempt to fill a void that should be filled with purpose, self-esteem, worthiness, and dignity.
