Releasing Control
My desire to control people, places, and things is a character defect that I have in my active addiction. When I’m drinking alcohol, I feel the need to control my finances and time so that I can drink whenever and wherever I choose. I also tried to control the people around me in a false attempt to claim to be sober.
Prayer Flags
A unique aspect of South Orange County Detox and Treatment’s individualized programming includes an art therapy group. This art therapy group is much more intense and in-depth than simple expression of feelings through art.
Passivity in Recovery
Passivity is something I’m going to need to bring my awareness, if I want to stay clean. Working on my passivity will allow me to be my most authentic self and will put my true recovery-self in charge.
